Argh !! The subtitles on Death Note ... HELP PLEASE

Hey, well ... the Death Note subtitles arent working *but the subs on Honey and Clover and Virgin Snow work FINE*... its either my dvd player or the disc .. which I doubt. Basically, the picture is fine when no one is talking but when the subtitles are coming on, the screen goes fuzzy and then the subtitles show but its like .. double because of the fuzzyness...

Can anyone help?
